Chemotherapy and radiation therapy
Different treatments for cancer, including chemotherapy and radiation therapy, can lower the normal levels of estrogen. When radiation therapy in the pelvic area is concentrated, the blood flow to the vagina, estrogen reduction and slipping down, followed by vaginal dryness.
Pregnancy
In some women, taking hormonal contraceptive pills causes vaginal dryness.
Diabetes
Women with diabetes are 33% more likely to have vaginal dryness. This condition is due to vascular changes, neuropathy, or increased blood sugar levels due to diabetes or side effects of diabetic drugs.
Vaginal infections
Different fungal and bacterial infections of the vagina are also the causes of vaginal dryness.
Removal of ovaries
Surgery removing ovaries due to cancer or other problems causes the hormonal balance of the body and vaginal dryness to collapse.
