The relationship between hyperglycemia and dementia

British researchers have found that people with diabetes and those who suffer from high blood sugar are more likely to experience cognitive problems.

Research shows that each incremental unit in HbA1c reduces cognitive testing points, memory and brain function; symptoms that indicate cognitive decline in the brain.

While weakness in cognitive function of the brain naturally weakens in all individuals as age rises, the probability of cognitive decline in people with diabetes is higher.
